We interviewed three agents to represent us in the sale of our house.  Melodye was, by far and away, the most prepared and made the best presentation hands down.  I might add that she did that on a short turnaround as well, since we contacted her the afternoon before her presentation.  She went beyond the basic research of the home and even discovered things beyond the normal scope of her job.  For example, when we told her that we thought Stan Drake, the cartoonist of the Dagwood and Blondie series once resided in our home, we got a call from her the next day.  She was at city hall and had researched the property records.  She verified that Stan Drake did, in fact, live in our home and she used that to our advantage in marketing the property.  She was extremely ingenious in that regard and in so many other ways. 
 
In terms of establishing a price for our home, she read the market perfectly.  We had done our own research before hand and she came in right in line with our expectations.  The other agents, we felt, were priced too high and, in one instance, we felt the agent was trying to land the assignment by providing an unreasonably high expectation for the value of the house. 
 
Melodye also helped us with the staging of our house.  She went so far as to place signs around the house notating specific features that might have otherwise gone unnoticed.  Again, an indication of her ingenious marketing skills.  The brochure she created for prospective buyers, along with customized water bottles and pens, was truly over-the-top. She even supplied shoe covers for people to use when touring our house, so as not to track in dirt from the outside.
 
Thanks in large part to Melodye’s efforts, we had three offers on our house in five days, and that was despite trying to sell during a very difficult real estate market and a down selling time of the year (i.e. the fourth quarter). 
 
As I am sure you know, buying and selling a home is one of the more stressful undertakings in life.  As such, the involved participants experience a full range of emotional ups and downs. Melodye was most skilled and supportive in helping us to keep the emotional roller coaster on a more even track.  She would put things in perspective and educate us on the process, such that we were in a position to better understand what we were going through and thereby help us to better deal with the stress. All through the process, Melodye was always there for us, no matter the time of day or night, and always with the same cheerful spirit.
 
Along the way, we began to look upon Melodye as much more than merely our “real estate agent”.  She became our close friend, and we hope we became hers.  In hindsight, we were so lucky to have selected her to represent us.  Hopefully, you look upon her in the same way.  As someone who used to have a sizable number of people working for me, I would have been most pleased to have had Melodye as a member of my staff.  She is truly special.
